Special terms of Use for the Media Section of the Website

Except where noted, images and texts on the MCA Media website may be downloaded and reproduced only by members of the media for the sole purpose of timely reporting in newspapers, magazines, television, radio, web publications and other media. Use of media images and texts for any other reason and at any time after the close of the exhibition or program may be subject to additional permission requirements. Media materials may not be downloaded or reproduced by commercial stock houses or archives or by members of the general public.

Privacy Policy for Website Visitors

The Museum of Contemporary Art is committed to safeguarding your online privacy. MCA does not collect personal data except when you voluntarily submit it to our website. Examples of voluntary submission include, but are not limited to, purchases made online in the MCA store or box office, online employment applications, online enrollment in one of our classes or programs and subscription to our E-News updates.

MCA will not disclose or share any personal information you provide to MCA with any other party without your permission, except for the following: (a) if requested to do so in accordance with a court order, subpoena, or similar legal order and (b) name and address information provided through our box-office sales provider may be exchanged by MCA with other cultural institutions but we do not exchange phone number information.

Content Provided by Users

Although MCA may monitor or review discussions, chats, postings, transmissions, bulletin boards, and the like on its sites, blogs, and channels, MCA is under no obligation to do so and assumes no responsibility or liability arising from the content of any such locations nor for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger or inaccuracy contained in any information within such locations. Use of Data and Cookies 

When you visit the Museum of Contemporary Art website, our servers automatically collect information about the IP address from which you access the site (an IP address is the number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web), the pages you visit, the date and time you access our site, and the type of browser and operating system that you are using. We use this information to better understand how our site is used. We do not track or record personal information about individuals and their visits. Online Purchases through our Store or Box Office

The information you provide online to purchase items in our store or through the box office is used for billing purposes, to fill the order, and to reach you if we have trouble processing your order. Name and address information provided through our box-office sales provider may be exchanged by MCA with other cultural institutions but we do not exchange phone number information.


A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from our Web server when you visit our online shop and is stored on your computer’s hard drive. The cookies we use do not contain any personal information and are only used to keep track of the items while you are shopping online in our store. If you choose to reject cookies, you will still be able to use the MCA site but you will not be able to build a shopping order.


We use Verisign to protect the security of your online store order information and to encrypt your order information and prevent it from being decoded by anyone other than MCA. We use The Patron Edge Online to facilitate purchases through our box office.
